Laurel Chor is a photographer, filmmaker and writer from Hong Kong. She is passionate about telling stories that provoke awe about the world around us, and about the power within us to change it. Most recently, she was the Asia producer for VICE News Tonight on HBO.  In 2013, she founded the HK Explorers Initiative, which encourages people to explore and appreciate the city’s wild side, and in 2014, she was appointed by Jane Goodall to be an ambassador for her institute in HK.She is also a rugby player, and was a member of the first Hong Kong team to play in the 2017 Rugby World Cup. She loves storytelling, exploration and rugby for the same reason: their ability to make people believe in their own strength.
